- In the absence of a senior nurse provide leadership, support and coordination to the ward nurses, following a period of training, and supported practice. This is an exciting time to join our amazing team in Children's Services as we are working on the project to expand our services and building a new Women's and Children's Hospital , which will bring opportunities for career development in different areas (including advance clinical practice, etc)
We welcome enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals to join our team as staff nurses to provide dynamic, high quality family centred nursing care to Children, Young People and Babies.

Main duties of the job
We offer the option of a rotational programme across inpatient wards, neonates, possible Children's ED - which will allow you to advance as a highly skilled staff nurse ready for promotion.
The children services consist of the following:
Ward 4: Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) Ward 4 is open 24 hour/day, has 16 PAU beds. We offer access to expert, evidence based and family centred assessment, treatment, and care.
Paediatric Day Surgery Unit
6 beds area open Mon-Friday, specific for day surgery, including T&O, ENT, etc. Supported by ward 4 senior staff, we provide care from pre-op assessment, supporting families from admission to discharge. We also have a very successful pathway entitled "All about me", which is an Individualised Elective Admission for Children and Young People with Additional Needs.
Ward 5
Inpatient ward with 22 bed spaces, covering 0-16 years old, offering Medical, Surgical, Oncology and Orthopaedic experience. The Ward has High Dependency beds and offers opportunities for staff to succeed and develop, providing the necessary training courses to care for children on the high dependency pathway.
We also work very closely with NNU, and our CED, opportunities might arise to rotate through all the areas.
We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced nurses, registered adult nurses are also welcome, training will be supported by our practice development team.
