We provide environmental leadership across an area of 6 million people and home to some magnificent natural assets, where Nature Recovery and Partnerships are at the heart of everything we do.

Restoring habitats, reconnecting the natural environment and connecting people with nature across the Lancashire uplands of West Pennine Moors and Bowland Fells, the wetlands and rivers of Cheshire, the wildlife-rich Irish Sea coast and urban heartland of Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region.


In 2023 we have an ambitious plan to build a resilient natural environment, recovering and restoring England's threatened native species, recover priority habitats, habitat quality and species abundance.

The role


We are looking for an ecologically minded Lead Adviser to deliver our program of SSSI monitoring across the diverse mosaic of habitats within our Lancashire Uplands.

Focusing on blanket bog, wet and dry heathland, fens and flushes, upland hay meadows, wet grassland and upland/wet woodlands plus the rich variety of indicative species that they support, i.e., upland breeding birds.

The aim being to strengthen our scientific evidence base to inform our decisions, advice and leadership on how to drive positive changes in the natural environment.
