We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Sister (Band 6), to join our friendly team. Working on an 18 bedded Haematology ward (Laurel 3)This position would suit and experienced band 6 nurse or a band 5 nurse looking to forward their career progression.
As part of the role, you would be trained to administer chemotherapy and be trained to take the twenty-four hour, Acute Oncology Helpline, providing patients with advice and care, during and after their treatment.
You would also be able to take charge of shifts and be responsible for your own team of staff.
Band 6 nurse, supporting the Ward Manager in the running of a busy Haematology Ward. Managing the shift
Managing a team of staff to include PDR, sickness absence and Training
Administering chemotherapy

To take appropriate action to ensure the safety of patients, including the delegation of patient care to nurses with the appropriate level of skill at all times.
To actively participate in the nursing process in the best interest of the patient. To ensure that acceptable standards of patient care are maintained and, where necessary, instigate changes in agreement with Matron.Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice, contribute to policies and procedures leading to implementation within the department.
