    Description

    Applicants should be able to demonstrate broad experience of Radiotherapy treatment delivery and possess a passion to excel and drive change in this field.


    The post holder will be responsible for ensuring highly accurate and consistent standards in the treatment delivery and the management of associated side effects of patients with a cancer diagnosis.


    Additionally the post holder works closely and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a thorough, efficient service encompassing all aspects of accurate Radiotherapy treatment delivery and patient care.


    The post holder provides specialist clinical training and supervision of junior staff, new staff, students and other health professionals within their area of accountability.


    Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

    To lead a busy Linear Accelerator with a varied treatment workload using effective clinical and personnel management skills and strategies.


    To provide safe and accurate specialist technical service delivering therapeutic ionising radiation, while maintaining a high duty of care to all patients undergoing Radiotherapy.


    Provide effective leadership to ensure smooth running of the treatment unit taking into account the needs of the patient, staff and service.

    To set and maintain quality standards for work undertaken on the treatment unit.


    Must organise personnel and daily clinical sessions demonstrating effective time management and managerial strategies using available resources to manage fluctuations in demand.

    Broad demonstrable experience and proven understanding of Radiotherapy procedures

    Effective management skills including time management, high level of organisation, ability to meet deadlines, can plan and prioritise own work, self-awareness.

    Demonstrable evidence of knowledge of radiotherapy errors and investigation

    Demonstrable experience of treatment planning including use of Eclipse planning system.

    Demonstrable experience in personnel management skills

    Required to use computer systems and VDU equipment including excel, word etc. Able to enter data into and extract data from specialist databases.

    Masters Level Professional Development or Equivalent

    Additional Professional Qualification such as Teaching Certificate, advanced practice , Quality
