Description
Are you interested in an exciting career in clinical research?

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated research practitioner to join our friendly clinical research team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The Research department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust delivers a broad range of NIHR Portfolio and non-Portfolio commercial and non-commercial studies within a secondary care setting at the hospital and a primary care setting through Royal Primary Care.

The Research Practitioner will take responsibility for the co-ordination and management of a research portfolio comprising a range of research projects.

You will be a generic practitioner, covering a variety of disease areas.

We are seeking people with excellent communication, attention to detail and the ability to adapt in a changing environment.

Experience of nursing or clinical research is not essential as we offer a training programme so if you meet these criteria, and have a clear desire for this role, then please apply.

We are open to request for full or part-time working.

The tasks will vary from day to day depending on the type of clinical trial you are working on, but key duties include:

  • Supporting research nurses and study investigators to undertake NIHR portfolio research projects, carrying out a range of administrative and clinical tasks under the guidance and supervision of the research nurses.
  • Clinical tasks as per trial specific protocols such as patient observations, phlebotomy and performing ECG's.
  • Working autonomously on studies that do not require registered nurse input.
The Trust provides a full range of District General services, also offering primary care through Royal Primary Care. Our vision is exceptional care provided by exceptional people. Our mission is to bring our people, communities and partners together
- providing patient care we can all be proud of and your energy and leadership will be critical to our success. It is an exciting time to join us as the pandemic has caused transformational service delivery with many projects accelerated across the Trust.

We are firmly rooted in the founding principles of the NHS, and we have built on this by "Leading the Chesterfield Way" and with our Proud to CARE values: leading with care, openness, integrity and embedding an inclusive culture.

We recognise the need for a work-life balance and offer flexibility and support to care for your physical and mental well-being.

This role is important to us, and we look forward to you applying.

Please see attached job description for further details of the role or contact Emily Hall for further information.
