    Description

    IT Technical Lead – UK Remote

    Our client, a leading charity dedicated to addressing skills gaps in engineering and manufacturing, once considered a Sector skills Training board who are dedicated to helping employers find new ways to close the skills gap in the UK Engineering and Manufacturing sector.

    They combine a unique approach to sector data with a deep understanding of the skills challenges, to help employers ensure the sector has a highly skilled, globally competitive workforce now and in the future.

    They are looking for an experienced hands-on IT Technical Lead to join their expanding team.

    Reporting to and closely collaborating with the Head of IT, the IT Technical Lead will supervise and steer technical services and projects. They will manage both the IT Service Delivery Lead and the Cyber Security Lead, ensuring efficient project execution and comprehensive security measures.

    As the IT Technical Lead, you will support the Head of IT in formulating and executing the IT Strategy, including contributing to the creation of the annual IT budget.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Technical Leadership and Project Management:

    • Lead all IT projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and efficient implementation.
    • Collaborate with the IT project delivery lead and DevOps manager to design, plan, and execute IT projects efficiently.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams to foster collaboration and optimal project outcomes.

    IT Infrastructure and Cloud Services:

    • Oversee and manage IT infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and security.
    • Administer and optimise Microsoft technologies, including Office 365 and Azure, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with industry standards.

    IT Service and Security Management:

    • Manage IT service delivery, ensuring that IT services meet organisational requirements and performance standards.
    • Supervise both the IT Service Delivery Lead and the Cyber Security Lead to maintain and improve service levels, customer satisfaction, and comprehensive security measures.

    Ownership of Systems and Roadmap of Change:

    • Own the organisation's systems and work with SMEs, BAs, and the PMO to scope, plan, and execute enhancements, creating a roadmap of change for continuous improvement.

    Collaboration with External Partners and IT Strategy:

    • Liaise with external partners to implement technology changes, ensuring smooth integration and alignment with organisational objectives.
    • Contribute to the development and updating of the IT strategy in collaboration with the Head of IT.

    Technology Trends and Innovation:

    • Proactively engage in horizon scanning to identify emerging technology trends relevant to the organisation's needs.
    • Keep abreast of evolving technology trends and assess their potential impact on the organisation's IT landscape, providing recommendations for upgrades and improvements.

    Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead and mentor an inclusive team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and provide ongoing feedback and support to team members.
    • Communicate the direction of travel for your relevant function through regular and consistent communication, sharing progress and updates regularly.
    • Ensure that a customer-first mindset is embedded across the IT System and Services and that the team live our values and behaviours.
