    Organisation: Leicestershire County Council

    Work Location: Hybrid working flexible location - from home, 2 days per month mandatory in office at County Hall, Glenfield, LE3 8RA

    Salary: £26,427 - £45,054 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) dependant on experience

    Working Hours: 7.4 hrs per day Monday to Friday

    Contract Type: Permanent

    About the Role

    To ensure compliance with the Public Contract Regulations and Contract Procedure Rules whilst applying pragmatic and risk based advice around procurement activity.

    Leading on and managing procurement projects to ensure that commercial risks are addressed and the best outcomes are achieved for local people including proven value for money.

    To assist the Commercial Specialists in maintaining a clear strategic view of overall requirements across the category/ies.

    About You

    To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Experience of commissioning support and/or sourcing/ procurement in a large complex organisation including effective market engagement
  • Experience of successfully engaging with a range of stakeholders, building effective working relationships and promoting organisational reputation and interests
  • Experience of managing and delivering successfully a number of smaller projects simultaneously and delivering to deadlines
  • Evidence of improving value for money and achieving service outcomes.
  • You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial skills including influencing, negotiation, risk management, obtaining value for money, and liaising with a range of professional staff and suppliers
  • Knowledge of Key national policy drivers, legislation (including EU Procurement Directives and Public Contract Regulations)
  • In addition, we also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
