The Pharmacy Department at Barts Health covers a population of 2.We provide medicines management and medicines optimisation services from our four hospital sites across North East London.
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic pharmacist to join the renal pharmacy team at Barts Health.You will work closely with medical and nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team on a wide range of medicines optimisation matters, and to ensure standardisation of medicine policies and procedures wherever appropriate.
You will also be expected to contribute to the research agenda working with staff across the Pharmacy department and student placements.

The post holder will carry out the full range of duties as the Specialist Pharmacist in renal and urology to deliver patient focused, quality care, based at the Royal London Hospital.

Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy / Pharmacy Practice or equivalentPost-registration experience in an acute hospital based clinical post.
Experience of undertaking research, quality improvement or audit projects
Understanding of clinical governance and clinical risk management
Up to date knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmacy practice, e.g. controlled drugs, Health and Safety at Work
Understanding of the pharmaceutical care needs
Be able to influence senior medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management teams
Design delivery of training and review
Skills to undertake training delivery and review to a wide range of trainees
Ability to identify, assess and manage risks
IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office Programs, e.g., Excel, Word, and pharmacy computer systems
Ability to provide clinical supervision to pharmacy technicians in accordance with professional standards for pharmacy technicians
DBS - Enhanced check with a check of the barred lists required as patient facing and may interact with adults / children
Leads by example, promoting the Bart's Health and Pharmacy values
Models, and can encourage others in being innovative in finding ways of improving the quality of services
