Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Intensive Care
We're recruiting for Senior Clinical fellows (Locally Employed Doctors) to join our team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the daily review and management of critically ill adult patients in the critical care department.

The candidates will be based on the Intensive Care and High Dependency Units, but will also be responsible for reviewing and managing critically ill patients throughout the hospital, primarily on the wards and in the emergency department.

The rotation in a speciality would reflect the training ambition and needs of the fellow.

The applicant will also be part of an on-call critical care rota on a full shift basis on a EWTD compliant rota.

Consultant supervision will be provided at all times, and consultants are present on the Intensive Care unit for a minimum of 16 hours per day.

More information re this scheme can be found on our website – link in job description

Under the supervision of the critical care consultants you will assist in the assessment, admission, day-to-day management, investigation, practical procedures and final discharge of patients.

Senior clinical fellows will be expected to work at the level of a Specialty Registrar, with increased responsibility for assessment and management of unwell patients in the ITU and hospital, and for the supervision of more junior trainees.

Weekly teaching is compulsory unless on night duties or leave is granted, and provision is made for this in the rota.

We're creating an exceptional integrated health & social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.

Bringing together 10 hospitals & community services from across Manchester, Trafford & beyond, we champion collaborative working & transformation, encouraging our 28,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals.

We've also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient & staff experience, operational effectiveness & driving research and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our brand-new Electronic Patient Record system which we've launched in September 2022.

We're proud to be a major academic Research Centre & Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes.

What's more, we're excited to be embarking on our new Green Plan which will set out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.

At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, provide equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing and shaping the future of our organisation together.
