    Job Description

    Are you a front-end web developer with a passion for Shopify looking for a new challenge?

    If you're a front web developer (bonus points for Shopify experience), and an advocate for modular, utility-first development then we'd love to get to know you.

    Charle is an ambitious ecommerce agency specialising in bespoke builds and ongoing support within Shopify and Shopify Plus. Our team members gain unparalleled exposure to well-known brands, including Samsung, HIPPEAS, Candy Kittens, Billionaire Boys Club and Cambridge Satchel – to name a few.

    About the role

    We are expanding our development department for a full-time Shopify developer to join our team. As a fast-growing agency with an ever-expanding client base. You'll be expected to pave the future of development practices, shaping and adapting delivery inline with new Shopify plans / modern development practices. Loads of learning opportunities amongst our team too.

    All skill levels considered.

    Key Skills

    • Liaising when necessary with our clients, to help them understand how we can translate their requirements into an actionable scope of work.
    • Be confident in working with our design department to assess the feasibility and scope of work to bring the designs to life within the client's site.
    • A strong ability to operate under your own initiative, taking pragmatic action to try and resolve blockages before escalation, and proactively updating the status of ongoing tasks and timelines.
    • Be willing to offer support to the more junior members of department, managing and unblocking escalations and helping the wider team to remain accountable to delivery dates.

    The Techy Stuff

    Ideal experience:

    • Shopify / Liquid
    • Shopify APIs (Cart/Section Rendering, Storefront API)
    • Javascript
    • Tailwind (or familiarity with CSS frameworks)
    • HTML (with best practices / accessibility in mind)
    • Webpack / Vite
    • REST APIs/GraphQL
    • CLI (fundamentally Themekit, Shopify CLI and NPM)
    • Git (including strong knowledge of branches, merges)

    Bonus Experience:

    • Shopify Functions
    • Checkout UI Extensions / Branding API
