    About the role

    The Service:
    The Family Assist team targets young people aged 11+ on the edge of care, including those Using both evidence-based methodologies and systemic therapy approaches, we work intensively with families to reduce conflict or avoid family breakdown. The team aim to provide a more intensive and flexible approach to young people and their families, working with agreed objectives formulated in an inclusive way, and providing high levels of contact including regular evening work on top of contact during the daytime.

    The Role:

    We are looking for a creative and innovative practitioner who will draw on their experience of working with children, young people, and families to divert them from care. You will be experienced in working collaboratively with partners around the identification of need and in offering co-ordinated and streamlined support to young people and families. You will have a particular skill in engaging with families and will focus on positive engagement using a variety of skills, techniques, and interventions.

    Your practice will be underpinned by a sound knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding along with extensive knowledge and understanding of using evidence-based approaches including systemic therapy. Practitioners will be working within an outcomes-based performance framework evidencing positive diversionary outcomes for young people identified at risk of entering care.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Accredited or nationally recognised qualifications relevant to children and young people
