An exciting opportunity has become available for 2 Consultant Neurophysiologist posts to join 7 Consultant colleagues, and a team of Clinical Physiologists based in the Neurophysiology Department, who together provide high quality neurophysiology services to the Greater Manchester conurbation.


Main duties of the job:


We have a busy department covering all aspects of neurophysiology from neuromuscular work to complex intracranial Stereo EEG and are looking for someone with not only general skills, but also with a specialist interest of their choosing.


You will have an excellent track record in your field and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

You will need to have strong leadership and communication skills coupled with the burning desire to improve and succeed.

Qualifications & Registration:


Essential criteria:


  • Full registration with GMC
  • MRCp or equivalent

Desirable criteria:


  • MD/PHD

Clinical Knowledge & expertise:


Essential criteria:


  • Experience of Neurology and General Medicine
  • To be formally recognized as Clinical Supervisor as defined by the GMC Trainer Standards

Desirable criteria:


  • Working knowledge of NHS management responsibilities of consultants and experience in clinical audit
  • To be formally recognized as Educational Supervisor as defined by the GMC Trainer Standards

Attitude&personal effectivenes:


Essential criteria:


  • Ability to work as a team with professional colleagues both medical and other disciplines
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with patients effectively
