An exciting opportunity has arisen for Administrative Support Officer role in the Pain Management department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.


We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly organised and goals driven individual to join our team as a part-time Band 2 Administrative Support Officer (15 hours a week) in our busy department at St.

Albans City Hospital.

This role involves working as part of a team in an office environment.

The postholder will be expected to prioritise their own workload to ensure that the management of specifics admin tasks are being accomplished in line with clinical urgency and the Trust's Patient Access Policy standards.

We are a hard working friendly and flexible team; meeting ever changing demands and require someone of a similar nature.


A professional and friendly manner will be required for telephone enquiries from patients, and you will need to understand the sensitivity of the nature of work you will be carrying out, when dealing with patient matters in the strictest of confidence.

You will also be responsible for maintain accurate record keeping and adding patients to the outpatient worklist in CERNER. You will cover the telephone queries for the secretariat when they are not at their desk, and provide postal services to the team

The post holder will provide a comprehensive and efficient administrative support service to Pain Management Consultants as well as support other staff within the Pain Management team, Nursing Staff, Service Managers, RTT team and other Trust staff as appropriate towards the delivery of an efficient administrative service.

In so doing the post holder will work closely with the Consultants, along with other members of the Pain Management Team, whilst also having the ability to speak directly to patients and families in a professional manner.

This job may involve cross site working.
