    Description

    RSK ADAS Ltd, a part of the RSK Group Ltd, is seeking a Field Research Scientist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves a mix of hands-on field and office work and will be located at the Boxworth office in Cambridge.

    As part of the ADAS Sustainable Agricultural Systems Business, this position focuses on scientific projects for various clients, including governmental entities and leading businesses in the UK and internationally, emphasizing efficient food production and environmental sustainability in the industry. The role will primarily specialize in Crop Physiology and Pathology but will also involve skill development across the team, contributing to research projects in agriculture and horticulture, covering areas like crop Physiology, Pathology, Soils and Nutrients, Entomology, and Weeds.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct practical research on agricultural and horticultural crops, specializing in pathology but also contributing to physiology, entomology, soils and nutrients, and weeds.
    • Develop technical expertise to carry out on-site trials and applied research.
    • Manage projects to ensure timely delivery and high scientific credibility and client satisfaction.
    • Establish collaborative relationships with colleagues, partners, and the industry.
    • Provide support to ensure successful project outcomes.

    Qualifications/Experience:

    • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
    • Hold a valid UK driving license.
    • Eligibility to work in the UK.
    • Flexible and adaptable mindset to tackle various challenges.
    • Ability to travel within the UK and overseas.
    • Prior knowledge of farm machinery and relevant certifications are advantageous.

    Salary and benefits:

    • Competitive salary ranging from £23,000 - £25,000 per annum based on experience.
