Jackson Hogg Supply Chain division are partnering with a design and manufacturing business in Northumberland on the appointment of a Buyer to join their Purchasing team on a full time and permanent basis.

The salary on offer is circa £30,000-35,000 per annum with working hours of Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00. The business also offer 25 days holiday plus bank hols.

Reporting into the Purchasing Manager, this person will direct, manage and perform all activities regarding the purchasing of materials, supplies and services for the company, working with the respective Project Managers to ensure projects material costs are completed within budget.

The Role:

Creation of project specific bills of material
Overseeing and authorising purchase orders
Raising and expediting of purchase orders
Supplier monitoring
Supplier development
Maintaining accurate stock record
Review and authorisation of supplier invoices
Continually reviewing current supply chain establish and update an approved vendor/supplier database
Managing and conducting all company logistics.
Assisting proposals with tenders.
Assisting the aftersale department with tenders.
Control of all purchase requirements for the after sales department.
Monthly KPI reporting.
Managing the procurement and free issuing of materials for business projects

The Person/Specification:

Purchasing experience from a manufacturing or engineering environment
Good communicator and listener
Adapting to change Organisation, prioritisation and planning
Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles of planning and MRP/ERP systems may be required.
