    THERAPY SERVICES
    8-month secondment within Upper Limb Occupational Therapy out-patient services

    Band 6 Therapist

    Fulltime (37.An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled occupational therapist to join the Musculoskeletal Occupational Therapy Upper Limb Out-patient Team at Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, predominantly at Broadgreen Hospital.


    The focus is on the restoration of function post orthopaedic trauma, elective hand surgery and facilitation of successful adaptation when living with a long-term upper limb condition.


    It's an exciting time to join the therapy team following the Trust merger in 2019, and as such we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic occupational therapist with experience in upper limb orthopaedics and/or rheumatology.


    In return there is a structured supervision and appraisal process as well as a strong commitment to continued learning and staff well-being.

    Clinical support and supervision will be available from experienced senior clinicians.

    We wish to recruit an experienced clinician who has a clear understanding of the developing role of Occupational Therapy within Upper Limb Out-patient services and the ability to support leadership of a team which delivers innovative, responsive services to meet both the needs of patients and the organisation.

    The post holder will have clinical experience working with adults with Upper Limb presentations.

    You will be required to participate or lead on service review in order to identify service development needs and support the band 7 in delivering this while meeting clinical service demands


    Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.


    The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.


    It's an exciting time to join the therapy team following the Trust merger in 2019, and as such we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic occupational therapist with experience in upper limb orthopaedics and/or rheumatology.

    The post holder should be prepared to work flexibly across Aintree Hospital and The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital sites.

    Post registration experience in a junior rotational post providing a broad experience in musculoskeletal / medical surgical conditions
    Evidence of a contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants
    Broad knowledge of current best practice in Occupational Therapy
    Have an understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
