    We are now seeking an exceptional Non-Executive Director to join our Board. Working with our Chair, Dr Kathy McLean, we are looking for a highly capable and credible Board Member who will bring a sustained track record of success in a relevant setting. As Non-Executive Director, you will be an effective role model, exhibiting and promoting collaborative leadership behaviours that uphold our values of Compassion , Openness and Excellence , providing strategic vision, high challenge and high support, and stewarding effective governance of our trust.

    As Non-Executive Director, you will make a tangible difference to a large and diverse population. To achieve this, you will offer transferable skills gained as either a Non-Executive or senior executive leader in an organisation of comparable scale and complexity. During the selection process, we are interested in how your skills and career successes to date will enable you to provide the best possible care to our communities. You must also demonstrate an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion and showcase how you will role model this at UHDB and across our system.

    In this appointment process we are actively seeking candidates from a range of diverse and inclusive backgrounds who offer the Board skills required to take our Trust forward, and your values and ability to inspire and harness the talents of others is critical for us.     General leadership experience gained in a senior role, executive or non-executive in an organisation of comparable scale and complexity to the Trust. We are open to a range of professional backgrounds and skill set and would particularly like to hear from applicants who have experience HR/OD and population health/inequalities.

As a leader in two integrated care systems, the ability to build constructive and cohesive partnerships is key to our future success, improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.

    We have some fantastic people working at UHDB, and there is a strong desire to build on the good work that has happened in our journey so far; we are refreshing our Trust strategy and focusing on developing our open and compassionate culture to make UHDB an inclusive and progressive place to work for all. Alongside this, we need to continue to grip the challenges facing the NHS and make sure we deliver exceptional care, together, to the patients who need us.
