    Job summary

    This is an exciting post within the SpecialistTeaching & Support Service at Bradford Local Authority which is focused onsupporting the wellbeing of children and young people with additional needs. Weare seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join our team ofenthusiastic professionals.

    Main duties of the job

    You will:

  • Lead and provide an effective Occupational Therapy Service to children and young people within the Specialist Teaching & Support Service including those with medical needs, deaf and vision impaired children and young people and those with social, communication and interaction learning needs.
  • Work alongside staff in the Specialist Teaching & Support Service to ensure the needs of pupils are met and supporting staff to understand different approaches and strategies.
  • Work directly with pupils, families, outside agencies and schools to ensure a high standard of support. Developing and delivering specific programmes and interventions as appropriate with individuals and groups of pupils to promote positive mental health, behaviour, attendance & progress and wellbeing.

    Essential

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist (BSc/BA MA/MSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy degree)
  • Current HCPC Registration

    • Desirable

  • Experience in providing Occupational Therapy services through practice placements, volunteering and/or employment.
  • Other relevant experience of work with children and families is welcomed.
  • Ability to work autonomously and seek support when required.
