We're also committed to improve and reform both our services and our culture to meet our communities' changing needs.This newly created function will work alongside our Senior Leaders and Directors to provide professional, high-quality programme and project management approaches, to successfully deliver the change and improvements to achieve our ambition.
You will provide a business partner role to our front-line services, translating business requirements into clearly scoped, well-structured and robustly planned programmes and projects delivering tangible impact.
You will draw on your extensive experience in managing programmes and projects in a large, complex, and political environment to provide professional advice, guidance, as well as managing change to required time, cost and quality controls, to realise benefits to our residents and communities.
This role will report into the Assistant Director for Portfolio Management and Transformation, and work alongside the Head of Portfolio Management Office and other Programme Managers to form the leadership team for the function.
You will have line management responsibility for project resource including Project Manager(s) and Project Officer(s).Lead the scoping and planning of key programmes and projects, translating business objectives into tangible deliverables with a structured approach and clear ownership and accountability.
Provide a business partner lens to scoping potential programmes of change by advising on pipeline, changing priorities, dependencies, known issues to resolve, and potential risks to mitigate.
Define and manage programme approach to plans, budgets, governance, risk, change management and benefits realisation in line with the Portfolio Management Office standards, tools and approaches.
Engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and across all departments, ensuring consistent and effective communications, proactively identifying, and managing risk and issues as they arise.
Programme/project management qualification in a recognised methodology e.g. Excellent leadership and organisational skills, including attention to detail, multitasking and meticulous planning.Proven experience of leading multiple or large complex projects or programmes in a dynamic and challenging environment
34 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
