- Leadership and Team Management:
- Support the Home Manager in overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of the children's home.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including conducting regular supervisions and appraisals.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of care staff.
- Care Planning and Implementation:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and updated in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
- Promote a safe and supportive environment for children, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.
- Administration and Compliance:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, including children's files and administrative documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and inspections, working towards outstanding ratings.
- Partnership and Communication:
- Build positive relationships with external agencies, families, and professionals involved in the care of the children.
- Communicate effectively with children, encouraging participation and involvement in decision-making.
- Development and Improvement:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service, implementing best practices and innovative approaches.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance personal and team effectiveness.
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma for Children and young People (or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a residential childcare setting, with supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding principles, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach towards children and young people.
- Resilient and capable of handling challenging situations with professionalism.
