Administrative Officer - United Kingdom - Dorset Council

    Default job background
    Description

    About The Role

As a member of our dynamic team in the Adults and Housing Directorate, you will help bring our visionary projects to life as part of the Accommodation with Support programme. This initiative aims to provide new Housing with Care and Support accommodation and services for the incredible people of Dorset. By joining us now, you'll have the chance to be part of a transformative period as we adapt our services to positively impact the lives of our most vulnerable adults.

As an Administrative Officer, you will be at the forefront of creating a lasting impact in our communities. Harnessing your experience of providing administrative support for programmes of work, you will play a pivotal role in efficiently and effectively supporting transformational projects. Building strong relationships will be key as you collaborate with both internal staff and external partners to deliver key organisational objectives.

In your role, you will provide administrative support relating to the day-to-day operation of the team and manage and monitor administrative procedures, systems and/or project documentation to ensure current requirements are met and to contribute to their development and continuous improvement. You will be a central point of contact within the team, to ensure the provision of a high-quality service to partners and customers.

Each day will bring new and exciting challenges, and it will be your passion and dedication that ensures their successful delivery.

At Dorset Council, we prioritise investing in our employees' growth and development. As part of our team, you will have access to a wide range of exciting opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career. Through continuous learning programs and collaboration with knowledgeable colleagues.

We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options. Our commitment to employee well-being extends beyond flexibility, as we provide various well-being initiatives to support your overall health and happiness.

Dorset's Adult Social Care and Housing team is on a transformative journey to address the increasingly complex challenges we face. Through our visionary Accommodation with Support programme, we are committed to working together to deliver new housing options, including Extra Care Housing and Supported Living, for people with specialist accommodation needs.

Our ultimate goal is to work hand in hand with individuals, helping them uncover their strengths, realise their potential, and achieve independence and well-being within their communities. Drawing inspiration from lessons learned during the Covid-19 pandemic, our programme remains agile and adaptable as we continue to drive transformation across the directorate.

We are looking for someone who would like to join us on that journey, working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, but one in which you will always feel the support of colleagues, and have the opportunity to learn from them. Equally, we want you to bring your own invaluable knowledge and experience.

You can take the initiative and plan ahead, to help the team to coordinate work and prioritise the most important tasks and events.

Your exceptional communication skills enable you to work harmoniously with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Your flexibility and adaptability are second nature, allowing you to thrive when things around you are moving quickly.

Collaboration and teamwork are intrinsic to your approach, as you seamlessly contribute to the wider project management office. Multitasking comes naturally to you, effortlessly adapting to the ever-evolving demands of the team.

Supporting the successful delivery of projects within the Accommodation with Support Programme, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals in our community, and understanding the needs of vulnerable adults would be an advantage. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will work closely with the Project Officer and Project Manager, collaborating on day-to-day work management, but your role will also involve providing invaluable administrative support to other dedicated team members.
