    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with good communication and interpersonal skills to work within a small team within the community midwifery office.

    Community office is a busy environment that supports 5 community midwifery teams. You will need to have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise your work.

    Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be required to ensure confidentiality is maintain at all times
  • The post holder will be required to develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships within the work place, the Directorate and the Trust
  • The post holder will be expected to use Outlook as a major communication tool
  • The post holder will be responsible for the submission of data to the Trust
  • The post holder will ensure the correct process is followed for the transfer of care to the Community Midwives
  • The post holder will be required to compile the Community Newsletter and distribute electronically
  • The post holder would be expected to be proficient in audio word processing
  • The post holder will be expected to check and allocate new maternity bookings on K2 on a daily basis
  • The post holder will check for smoking cessation referrals on a daily basis
  • The post holder will update and forward the Homebirth list and send out on a weekly basis unless otherwise specified
  • The post holder will be required to use ABS procurement system to procure supplies for use in the community midwifery service under the direction of the Outpatient Midwifery Matron and/or Community Team Leads
  • The post holder will check NIPE assessments on a daily basis
  • The post holder will be expected to update any changes and add annual leave to Eroster system

    The post holder will provide secretarial support to the community midwifery team. They will have close links to the inpatient midwifery areas ensuring information is received and acted on a timely manner. The post holder is required to submit data to the Trust and also liaises closely with external stakeholders, eg smoking cessation services. To provide secretarial support to the Community Midwifery Managers including diary management and minute taking. To complete transfers of care to community midwives and to produce the community midwifery newsletter.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • GCSE Maths Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
  • GCSE English Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 Business Admin
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Desirable

  • CLAIT
  • Skills, Ability and Knowledge
