Professionally Accountable to: Dr Fady Khattar, Clinical Service Lead of Imaging
Base Site: Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital
Location(s): Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Solihull Hospital
Key Relationships: The post holder will have close working relationships with both the Imaging Department and specialty teams including Consultants, Radiographic and associated support staff.
Main duties of the job
This is a full time post and incorporates 9 PA's of direct patient care based on a 10 PA contract. Flexibility in association with service needs will be required on a weekly basis in line with an annualised hour's framework. The appointee will support clinical colleagues in offering a comprehensive imaging service for the trust and our patients. The timetable of activities will be agreed with the Clinical Service Lead of Imaging before taking up the post. Sample timetables of activities are available on request.

Job descriptionJob responsibilities
This is a general diagnostic radiology role principally consisting of acute reporting sessions in CT, MRI and Ultrasound. The candidate will be expected to participate in the day time Duty radiology rota.
The successful candidate will also be expected to take an active part in the training of Specialist Registrars on their rotation through the Departments.
The Trust has successfully introduced radiographer skill-mix in several areas including, contrast injections. Supervision of this radiographer extended role may be required.
The normal working day in Imaging may be extended to improve the speed of delivery of the service and maximise the efficient use of the equipment. The appointee will be expected to perform a limited number of sessions in the evenings or weekends together with other radiological colleagues.
The post holder will have to work in a team environment and help trainees and Radiographers when requested.
