    Job summary

    The detail of the job plan is open to negotiation and will be formalised with the Clinical Director on behalf of the Medical Director shortly after commencement. This will be reviewed within the first year of employment and on an annual basis thereafter to reflect changing workload, commitments and service needs.

    The post holder will be expected to provide general Radiology services as part of the radiology team, including the provision of consulting and advisory services to clinical colleagues. The post holder will contribute to the rota for daytime acute CT and MRI cover and comply with the department's policy for minimising the number of dropped clinical lists.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will contribute to provision general imaging services. Subspecialty work may be considered depending on the specialty offered by the candidate. The proportion of specialist work relative to general radiology provision is open to negotiation.

    The post holder will be expected to contribute to the supervision of radiology SpRs assigned to the department.

    The appointee will be expected to demonstrate firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit, complying with GMC guidelines on good medical practice and Data Protection legislation. All employees must participate in Mandatory Training as required by the Trust.

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

    Essential

  • oMedical Degree from a recognised University
  • oRadiology Registrar training scheme or equivalent
  • oFRCR or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Relevant registration requirements

    Essential

  • oFull GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Relevant knowledge and experience requirements

    Essential

  • oClinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST/CST
  • oAbility to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients and offer expert clinical opinion in the specialty
