About the role:

The post holder will join an established team of scientists developing engineered T-cell therapy for childhood solid tumours. This project will focus specifically on childhood cancer rhabdomyosarcoma.

The post holder will work closely with experienced clinician scientists to develop a new treatment approach based on chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) designed to redirect the patient's T-cells to recognize RMS tumour cells.

The post holder will work on testing newly developed engineered T cells in in vitro functional assays as well preclinical models of childhood cancer.

The role is ideally suited for a creative individual with a strong interest in tumour immunology and cancer immunotherapy, and novel cellular therapy development including clinical translation in a leading academic setting.

The post is until 31st December 2024 with a possibility to extend pending further funding.


About you:

The successful applicant will have experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

Prior experience with flow cytometry and relevant functional assays is required and prior experience with retroviral transduction of T cells is desirable.
