    Department Description

    The role of active management of the Banking Book in the banking industry is constantly growing. For Allica Bank, the pursuit for the most efficient and productive use of the Bank's resources remains of upmost importance.

    In order to analyse the optimal trade-off between profitability and riskiness of the balance sheet, the ALM department performs the analysis of behavioural aspects on both the asset and liability side of the balance sheet in order to optimise IRRBB hedging and funding strategies.

    To operate the proactive ALM practise we define the FTP framework which allows the Bank to achieve its strategic objectives. In Allica Bank, ALM takes a holistic approach, overseeing the entire balance sheet rather than managing risks separately.

    Allica is dynamic and fast growing, it faces multiple challenges and increased complexity. To ensure the ALM function continues to provide support for this growth, we are looking for an experienced ALM professional to join the team.

    Role Description

    The role covers both a prudential component, which involves managing treasury prudential risks according to regulation, and an optimization role, which involves managing funding costs and generating results on balance sheet position, within the limits of compliance.

    This is a great opportunity for to visibly add value to the Company through the holistic and optimisation-based principles of ALM. This is a senior level role reporting to Treasurer and engaging with ALCO on a regular basis as well as having EXCO and Board exposure.

    Principal Accountabilities

    Strategic Input

    • Develop and execute the asset liability management strategy in alignment with the company's financial objectives and risk appetite.
    • Lead on the development on behavioural models for the balance sheet (NMDs and behavioural).
    • Analyse and assess interest rate risks and provide recommendations for hedging strategies.
    • Enhancement of IRRBB framework – limit calibration, progress the implementation of dynamic models.
    • Design of Liquidity stress testing, Funds Transfer Pricing process and Funding plan
    • Collaboration with Treasury team to enhance ILAAP and Liquidity Contingency Plan.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and stress tests to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans.
    • Oversee the implementation of the ALM system to ensure accurate and timely data processing.
    • Collaborate with other treasury members, finance, and other relevant departments to align the ALM strategy with overall business goals.
    • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to asset liability management.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of investments and recommend adjustments as needed to optimize returns.

    Personal Attributes & Experience

    • Experienced Asset and liability management professional with strong technical knowledge.
    • Ability to think strategically, whilst at the same time adopting a very 'hands on' approach to day to day treasury management
    • Experience with customer behavioural models.
    • Treasury/ALM experience gained within a regulated firm, preferably a retail deposit taking and corporate lending institution.
    • Hands-on treasury management experience including liquidity management, FX and interest rate risk management.
    • An understanding of regulation and requirements facing banks and Treasury
    • An understanding of risk and compliance
    • Strategically minded but also very hands-on
    • Strong team player
    • Prepared to challenge but to do so in a constructive manner.
    • 'Can do', flexible and solutions orientated.
    • Committed, hardworking and focused upon delivering results.

    • Open, honest and with integrity
