    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Nurse to join our Cardiac IRCA team based at the Colchester site in the new purpose built IRCA unit .

    The post involves delivering excellent and individualised clinical care to our patients and their families.

    We have recently moved to our new IRCA unit in Colchester Hospital. You will be working with the Cardiac IRCA team and contributing to the care, treatment and recovery of patients requiring specific cardiac procedures. The procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab are diagnostic Angiograms, Implantation of permanent pacemakers and trans-oesophageal ECHO's. We also perform DC-cardioversions under conscious sedation and we have recently started a nurse-led implantable loop recorder service.

    We are an out-patient unit and work Monday to Friday performing these elective procedures, during this time we also are able to undertake in-patients that require emergency pacemaker implantation or other cardiac procedures.

    Main duties of the job

    Do you possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work confidently and collaboratively across professional boundaries? Are you keen and motivated to learn? Do you have experience and/or a very keen interest in cardiology?

    If so then we are looking for a highly motivated nurse who is passionate about the care of cardiac patients to join our cardiac catheter lab team, in delivering an excellent service.
