Providing cover to all YMCA housing sites (Hostel and Nomad Centre on St Rumbold's Street, and Tennyson House and Rasen House on Rasen Lane)
Salary:
Grade B2; £23,118
Hours:
Full time 37.5 hrs/week covering weekends, evenings, bank holidays (on a rota basis
hours by arrangement)

The Housing management team is responsible for the provision of an effective and responsive service to all residents.
Job purpose:
The aim of the housing team is to try to break the cycle of homelessness and support people towards independent living.
This is a diverse role supporting people with multiple complex needs and challenges.
As a Resident Advisor, you will have a varying caseload of people to support, you will contribute to and implement support plans that have been determined by you, the person receiving support and other relevant multi-agency support workers.
Support the realisation of the people you support's goals and aspirations;Be accountable for the delivery of the content of support and its administration including, tenancy support, health needs, personal development, emotional issues and inclusion;
Actively and positively respond to the changing needs of people receiving support;
Commit to the development of your learning and practice to a high level of expertise in your area.
You will provide support, advice and help to empower our residents to make positive choices and move into independent living.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Enable the people you support to determine goals they aspire to achieve
- Contribute to support plans, participate in regular support reviews of support goals, goal updates, protocols, guidelines, risk assessments and deliver personalised support as described in the plans
- Record planned support and delivery using language, whether handwritten or electronic, that is clear, official, respectful, appropriate and professional
- Ensure all work undertaken is based on the assessment of the risk to the people you are providing support to, colleagues and yourself
- Assist the people you provide support to, to access educational, occupational, housing and recreational opportunities
- Enable or assist the people you support to effectively manage their living environment
- Recognise change as an integral part of the delivery of support and implement it thoughtfully
- Actively promote health awareness, healthy living and facilitate positive lifestyle choices
- Ensure personalised communication is used with all the people you support
- Refer to internal and external personal development opportunities for the people you provide support to e.g. peer support volunteering and paid work, training opportunities, creative arts and health and wellbeing events; and actively encourage participation.
- Ensure that all relevant information relating to the responsibilities of the role is communicated appropriately
- Ensure that the principles of confidentiality are integrated into all aspects of support delivery.
- Meet the aims and objectives of the Service.
- Undertake any other task identified as being necessary to fulfil the requirements of an individual support or care plan.
- To clear rooms when residents vacate & undertake room checks when requested by the Deputy Housing Manager.
- To attend staff meetings and training as required.
Accountability for Support Delivery
All support you provide must be administratively accounted for and accurately recorded including direct support, indirect support, group work, cancelled support, travel, third-party notes (where applicable) and telephone calls.
