    Principal Process Engineer

    About Technip Energies U.K. Operating Centre

    Technip Energies UK Operating Centre (T.EN UKOC) is a unique engineering contractor, combining the global strength of Technip Energies with strong local presence in the UK market. We are based in numerous locations across the UK, including London and Milton Keynes, with expertise to deliver sizeable projects in the UK and abroad. Within the UK our focus is directed towards the energy market, including energy transition projects. Our people bring a diverse mix of expertise across our spectrum of operations.     Role Overview

    Candidates will require wide-ranging experience and knowledge of the oil and gas industry, some of which should be in Refinery related projects.

    Job Scope (budget, management, specific criteria)

    Activities dedicated to one specific study/project. Analyses project specifications, tender and proposals requirements. Technology evaluation, selection and economic assessment. Process configuration and optimization studies. Contributes to the development of design parameters and methodologies. Prepares technically correct, safe, environmentally friendly, cost & time effective discipline engineering analysis and solutions for approval.

    1. Design basis and philosophy documents (safeguarding, shutdown, relief & blowdown, isolation)
    2. Process description
    3. Process modelling and simulation
    4. PFDs and heat & material balance
    5. MSD and material selection philosophy
    6. Process and Utility P&IDs. P&ID development including selection of design conditions, hydraulic analysis, line sizing and pipe specifications, equipment isolation, vent and drain systems, cause and effects
    7. Sizing and specification of equipment including knowledge of distillation tower design and tray sizing
    8. Sizing and specification of in-line Instrumentation. Utilities and chemicals consumption summaries. Simulations and calculations
    9. Provides support to all project activities, from engineering to start-up, as required
    10. Participates as discipline lead or area lead in safety, environmental and operability reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID, SIL)
    11. Interfaces with other process engineering disciplines and design team(s)
    12. Assists in development of a process knowledge databases for studies, projects and/or operations (capturing and reporting events & experiences within studies, projects & operations and writing of technical notes)
    13. Relief system design including PSV sizing, flare hydraulics and radiation analysis

    1. BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering with a wide-ranging background in Gas/Liquids Cracking Technology
    2. Technology background in Gas Processing, Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage technology, Petrochemicals, Refining, Offsites & Utilities
    3. A specific and demonstrable knowledge of carbon dioxide capture and storage technology studies/projects
    4. Theoretical understanding of process design methods & tools
    5. Considerable knowledge in Oil & Gas Processing, Refining and/or Ethylene/Petrochemicals, preferably with an engineering contractor
    6. Experience of leading teams of 5-10 Process Engineers
    7. Engineering Work Processes Inter-discipline coordination, change management
    8. Knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards (API, ASTM, ASME etc)
    9. Process simulation: Hysys, PRO/II, PROMAX, Flarenet, Flaresim
    10. Engineering Work Processes: Interdisciplinary coordination, change management
    11. Industry Codes and Standards: Knowledge of API 520, 521, 526, 527, 2000 etc
    12. Leadership: Manages team of process engineers
    13. Project reporting: Progress and schedule reporting
