- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into CMDB design and configuration specifications.
- Design, implement, and maintain the CMDB data model, including configuration item (CI) classes, relationships, and attributes.
- Configure ServiceNow Discovery and other integration tools to populate the CMDB with accurate and up-to-date information about IT assets and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain CMDB-related policies, processes, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., ITIL).
- Collaborate with other ServiceNow teams (e.g., Incident Management, Change Management) to integrate CMDB functionality into broader IT service management processes.
- Provide guidance and support to other IT teams on CMDB-related matters, including data reconciliation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of the CMDB to identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
- Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates, new features, and industry trends related to configuration management and CMDB best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert on CMDB-related topics, delivering training sessions, workshops, and presentations as needed.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of third-party tools and technologies to enhance CMDB functionality and integration capabilities.
