- Cost Estimation: Utilize your expertise to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and refurbishments.
- Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to analyze project specifications, review tender documents, and develop competitive bid proposals.
- Material and Labor Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of material and labor requirements, sourcing pricing information and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality, proposing alternative materials or construction methods where appropriate.
- Cost Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, tracking expenditures against budgets and providing regular reports to stakeholders on cost variances and projections.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure and ensure project profitability.
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with a focus on residential projects. Experience in both new build and refurbishment projects is preferred.
- Quantitative Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical abilities, with the capability to accurately estimate costs based on project specifications and drawings.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of relevant building regulations and construction standards is advantageous.
