Job Summary


Disabled Students Allowance is a service to provide students with functional assessment to establish and support or equipment needs they may have maximise their opportunities for successful study.

Key to the service is the provision of both high qualityassessments, and also the provision of adapted equipment (eg; adapted laptops, ergonomic chairs etc).


The Head of Supply Chain will join the Contract Director and the Head of Operations to form the leadership team of the service and will be directly accountable for leading a network of assessment centre partners (normally Higher Education Institutions) andat least 1 assistive technology service provider.


Salary Range:
Non London £50,000-£55,000 pa
London £55,000-£60,000 pa

This role will be recruited in anticipation of Contract Reward.
Essential Job Duties

  • For ensuring that supply chain partners deliver their element of the service to required standards of quality, on time and in full, along with social value commitments made within the bid.
  • Direct contractual line management of all endtoend DSA delivery partners (ie; mostly Universities & Assistive Technology Providers) in all aspects of service delivery, including;
  • Achievement of minimum performance levels (generating required contract revenue) through a regular and transparent performance management regime.
  • Adherence to quality standards (avoiding any contractual service credits).
  • Ensuring service quality is to required standards, including customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and, when required, execute a contingency to replace underperforming subcontractors
  • Driving a continuous improvement strategy across and throughout the supply chain to ensure year on year performance improvement and effective collaboration both within the lots(s) and externally with other providers.
  • Regular assurance of the supply chain's financial surety, including monitoring access to working capital as required in line with the requirement to finance effective resourcing for successful delivery. This includes development of innovative support arrangementsthrough Maximus for any struggling partners.
  • Integration and enhancement of the CPA community engagement strategy.
  • As well as collaborating across supply chain partners and CPAwide service delivery, be a leading supply chain collaborator across the DSA programme with Supply Chain leads in other Restart CPAs.
  • Act as a leading operations supply chain leader within the wider Maximus supply chain/procurement community to support wider UK business strategy with sectorleading leading supply chain practices in accordance with Maximus values, culture and ethos.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3+ years senior direct supply chain experience in a large or multicontract service environment
  • Proven track record of successful supply chain operations management
  • Demonstrable experience of positively engaging with key stakeholders/Commissioners at senior level
  • Strong strategic and operational problem solving skills
  • Experience of driving continuous improvement strategies to successful completion
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Good understanding of contract law and commercial terms
  • Preferably CIPS qualified
  • Ability to travel freely and extensively across the Lot and beyond, as required
