    Lead AWS PlatformEngineer

    Location:Hybrid 23 days per week inCheltenham

    Permanent

    Pleasenote:

    This role requires SCclearance and in future will require DV clearance. Active SC orDVis not required (although it is highly desirable)but you must beeligible to pass SC and DVclearance to be considered.

    About therole:

    Cloudscaler are seekingmultiple Lead Platform Engineers who will be thought leaders withinour engineering practice leading customers through complex cloudtransformations with extensive knowledge of platform and sitereliability engineering bestpractise.

    Responsibilities:

    • Designingcomplex multitenant systems aligned tobestpractice
    • Building testing packagingdeploying and operating cloud platforms alongside shared platformtooling within AWS environments
    • Automating thebuild of infrastructure resources withinAWS
    • Packaging services into AMIs Dockercontainers or Serverlessdeployments
    • Championing infrastructure of codeand opinionated about infrastructure as code structure andmodularisation
    • Providing thought leadership tocolleagues and customers

    TechnicalSkills:

    • Experience automating thebuild of complex AWS Services and Cloud Platforms usingIaC
    • Understands how to scopecontainer/microservices to design Cloudsolutions
    • Understands deployment techniques toenable zero downtime
    • Experience designingcomplex Cloud systems or platforms and the ability to assesstradeoffs with design options
    • Experiencedefining technical direction and strategy of teams andsystems
    • Knowledgeable about the key securityrisks that are present when using AWS and how they can be detectedremediated and mitigated
    • Experience ofmitigating security risks in AWS and supporting a mature CloudSecurity Model
    • Experience with key AWS securityservices
    • Experience building deploying andoperating Docker containers and an appreciation of how to scopecontainers/microservices appropriately
    • Anappreciation of the software delivery lifecycle within a teambasedenvironment and experience with continuousintegration/deployment
    • An understanding of thechallenges and priorities of operating services and how SREprinciples can beapplied
