Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Housing Options Team Leader to work with one of our Local Authority clients in South London.

What the job will be doing

Responsible for management and development of staff, providing guidance and support in ensuring confidentiality and the effective operation of the department at all times
Ensuring all Housing Options functions meet legal requirements and ensuring Council policies and procedures are adhered to in an effective and consistent manner, including providing complex advice and guidance to other senior managers
Undertake case reviews on behalf of the authority under part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Council's Allocation Policy.
Interviewing under caution where necessary
Responsible for the development of Team / Service plans and ensure the Housing Options Team achieve the targets set

What you will need

Experience of working in partnership with other agencies
Supervisory or staff management experience
At least two years frontline experience in public sector housing, homelessness or housing advice and managing staff
Ability to interpret legislation, case law, guidance and policy in order to make accurate and informed decisions
Detailed knowledge of the Housing Act Part VI and VII (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002)**
