- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling and project management are essential.
- Good understanding of component parts of regulatory reported leakage and the techniques used to reduce leakage on a water network.
- Good IT and analytical skills.
- Understanding of operational and asset management aspects of the business.

This is a 12 month secondment / fixed term contract opportunity.

We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
As a Strategic Leakage Engineer, you'll use your problem-solving abilities to find optimisation solutions for the water supply network. Working with our hydraulic team, you will use the company data systems to analyse leakage data and identify areas of improvement.
You are a technically qualified professional, preferably with a relevant degree or sufficient water network experience. This will enable you to successfully analyse data and collate asset information including as laid plans & Maximo requirements. Excellent communications skills will be handy in this role, as you will be managing information between consultants and liaising with SEW departments.
Your expertise in project management will be invaluable, as you'll be assisting in planning the replacement of DMA meters, strategic scheme selection and construction.
You'll work 37 hours a week on a shift rota between the hours of 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday. We provide an essential service. So, you'll take part in a standby to give assistance to customers outside of normal hours and at weekends. In return, you'll receive additional standby allowance payment. You'll also have access to your rotas and schedule in advance to plan ahead.
