Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Gastroenterology Dietitian to join the Dietetics department at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Our aim is to deliver efficient, high quality, multi-disciplinary care to children with complex gastroenterology diagnoses. We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with gastroenterology experience and knowledge of parenteral nutrition management.or Lucy Jackman, Principal Gastroenterology Dietitian.
Responsible for the provision of a comprehensive and high-quality dietetic service for both inpatients and outpatients working to agreed standards, policies and procedures.
Assessment of the patient's needs for all children in the caseload, considering their diet history, growth and biochemical parameters and any relevant drug treatments.
Development and updating of diet sheets and other educational resources for patients and healthcare professionals both within and outside the TrustClose liaison with the diet service technicians and tasks to support the operation and functions of the Special Feeds Unit and Diet Kitchen
Teaching and supporting dietitians, diet service technicians, dietetic assistants, nursing, medical and other healthcare professionals on all aspects of nutrition and dietary management through informal tutorials and formal study days
Training the multidisciplinary team in anthropometry
Freedom to act interpreting the Health Professions Council code of conduct and working to all agreed standards, policies and procedures within the department and the Trust.

Academic/Professional qualification/Training
Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent postgraduate qualification
Registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council
Post-graduate Dietetics Masters Modules
Post-registration experience working in general dietetics
Significant experience working in clinical paediatrics at band 6/7 level
General paediatric dietetics
Knowledge of specialist paediatric dietetic within the clinical areas of Gastroenterology & intestinal rehabilitation
Computer literacy
