- Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Analyse project components, including materials, equipment, labour, and overhead costs, to develop detailed estimates for system installation, modifications, and upgrades.
- Utilise estimating software, databases, and historical data to calculate quantities, costs, and pricing for mechanical components and systems.
- Generate quotes and pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for mechanical materials, equipment, and services.
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive proposals, bid documents, and cost breakdowns outlining the scope of work, pricing, terms, and conditions for mechanical systems.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure alignment between estimates, project plans, and client expectations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to clarify requirements, negotiate pricing, and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with internal departments, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical estimates into overall project plans.
- Proven experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, piping, and equipment would be useful
