    About us

At Raytheon UK, we take immense pride in being a leader in defence and aerospace technology. As an employer, we are dedicated to fuelling innovation, nurturing talent, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Joining our team means being part of an organisation that shapes the future of national security whilst investing in your growth and personal development. We provide a collaborative environment, abundant opportunities for professional development, and a profound sense of purpose in what we do. Together, we are not just advancing technology; we're building a community committed to safeguarding a safer and more connected world.

    Our business

As a leading defence and aerospace company operating across the United Kingdom, Raytheon UK helps to solve our customers' toughest challenges. We are a major supplier to the UK government and customers around the globe, providing defence solutions across all domains: land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace. We also provide digital and training transformation solutions to commercial and military customers.

With circa 2000 employees and major facilities operating throughout the UK including Broughton (Wales), Livingston and Glenrothes (Scotland), and Harlow, Gloucester, and Manchester (England); we are committed to investing in British careers and technology development.

We have been involved in spaceflight since the world first set its eyes on the final frontier, with a Raytheon radar transmitting Neil Armstrong's famous "One small step for man" message. As Raytheon UK's Space business continues to grow, we offer considerable expertise in Space Situational Awareness (SSA), Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Surveillance & Tracking (SST), Policy, Risk Management, Orbital Analytics, and Operations.

    The role

This leadership role will be responsible for directing a multi-disciplined, company-wide team to capture and execute delivery of the Space portfolio of products. Together the team delivers a varied range of programmes across the Space business, related to Space Domain Awareness, Space Surveillance & Tracking and ISR. With planned growth in revenue across 2024/25, this role contributes to the P&L of the newly formed Space and ISR Mission Area. We have ambitious plans to grow into new international markets over our long-range plan.

The Senior Programme Manager must be able to work at appropriate levels within Raytheon UK, partner companies and the customer organisation by engaging with key stakeholders and identifying and addressing their collective needs. An innovative and commercially aware approach will be critical to delivering success. Work location can be flexible, but there will be a focus on Raytheon's facilities in Sedgefield, Reading and Gloucester so some travel required.

    • Facilitate complex problem-solving initiatives with technical competence and the ability to think through strategic solutions from the customers', company's and partners' perspectives.
    • Work as a key and active member of the Mission Area team, collaborating across the Missions and Functions to achieve overall business goals and objectives and contributing to both short and long-term business planning and forecasting.
