The role:

Service Six currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Youth specialist to join their Milton Keynes Team.

In this role, you will be working as part of a team delivering one-to-one support and group work sessions to young people.


Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Provide a wide range of support, advocacy, positive activities, interventions and services to children, young people and adults.
  • Undertake detached, outreach and Centre based activities within a diverse range of settings.
  • Provide 11 support sessions lasting between 3050 minutes for young people and adults relating to a number of issues, using brief solution focused approached and effective communication in line with the organisational procedures.
  • Facilitate the personal, social and educational development of the children, young people and adults.
  • Liaise with and advocate on behalf of the client with other agencies, providers and professionals as required.
  • Maintain the recording of client contacts and feedback within the statistical software packages.
  • Prepare statistical reports, written reports, case studies and summarise informal feedback regarding services amongst other monitoring systems.
  • Meet defined objectives and targets relating to service delivery and specific project work.
  • Undertake a range of consultation and evaluation processes with young people as required.
  • Maintain and develop alliances with a wide range of key partners.
  • Deliver all thematic coproduction processes contributing towards the 'Voice of the Child' being enabled, heard and acted upon at all levels.
  • Comply with all Safeguarding; reporting all designated service delivery interventions and disclosures to Designated Safeguarding Officer, while adhering to Service Six's policies & procedures.
  • Undertake all relevant administrative tasks, attend meetings and training as necessary.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duty commensurate within this Practitioner's role as directed.

Person specification:


  • Prior experience of supporting children with Mental Health would be desirable.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Microsoft Proficient
