Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is expanding its existing redevelopment team.

All of the Trusts three main sites St Mary's - together with Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals - are included in the 40 new hospitals the government has committed to build by 2030 as part of the government's wider Health Infrastructure Plan.


In line with the Trust's strategic objectives, both as an organisation and across the local health economy the post holder will bring a strategic focus to how the design of our hospitals support the transformation needed to deliver the Trust vision for care.


This is a key role supporting the reconfiguration of clinical pathways, ways of working and improvement initiatives to deliver better patient care and staff well-being.

Delivery of this transformation programme will be instrumental in creating the efficiencies needed to support the efficient running of our hospitals.


  • To support better care: Deliver optimal clinical outcomes in a modern care setting which supports the provision of integrated specialist services to help patients recover quickly and remain well.
  • To improve patient experience: Provide services in an environment that is as stress free as possible for patients, their carers and families, and ensure all staff are enabled to work safely and effectively.
  • To replace ageing buildings: Replace outdated buildings with a stateoftheart modern hospital that is efficient, adopts best practice in healthcare design and technology, and is flexible to adapt to future changes in clinical use
