Proactive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to begin work for a world-recognised designer and manufacturer of specialist power equipment for the aviation, automotive and emergency lighting sectors based in Kempston.
Due to rapid company expansion and an ever growing order book, our client is hoping to recruit at least one additional Test Engineer to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the factory's function is well maintained throughout this new and excited influx of work.
You will be responsible for:
Testing new equipment according to the required quality.
Follow test sheets and an electronic testing procedure ensuring the correct data is taken.
Bench test of individual components (Programable Control Boards) prior to their installation in the units.
Troubleshooting and problem solving when the equitment parameters are not in line with the required specification.
Following circuit diagrams.
Other assignments as designated by the Production Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
Electrical/Electronic qualification.
You will have experience of testing/fault finding electronic/electrical circuits and can follow a wiring diagram.
Troubleshoot and repair printed circuit boards down to component level.
Ideally 5 years of related experience
Working with 3 phase power and high voltage batteries.
You work well both independently and within a team. You enjoy the challenge of working under pressure and to deadlines.
Organised, methodical approach with good problem-solving skills.
Good written and oral English.
Good understanding of Word, Excel & Outlook.
You understand Electrical Safety and WEEE regulations.
