BRC are working with a Reputable Housing Association in Cornwall to recruit an experienced Site Manager who, under the guidance of the Build Manager, will plan the implementation of the project including ensuring that a health and safety plan is prepared& regularly reviewed, site set-up is undertaken and that labour or subcontractors and materials are organised, coordinated and managed.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate all works on site whilst ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, to specification and the agreed quality standards and business objectives
  • Working with the Build Manager to plan the implementation of the project including ensuring that health and safety plans are prepared, a full programme is prepared and regularly reviewed
  • To ensure that homes are built in strict accordance with the Business Quality Plan, that each stage of the works are inspected, approved, and that excellent Customer Care is priority
  • Ensure that the site set up is undertaken and that labourers, subcontractors and materials are organised, coordinated and managed
  • Responsible for the day to day management of subcontracted workforce including: Site induction, site briefings, identification of training needs for the site, welfare and discipline
  • Agree budgets for the project with the commercial team and the build manager and deliver the project within budget
  • Visit adjoining neighbours and scheme stakeholders ahead of works being carried out to ensure that due account is taken at all times
  • Ensure that expenditure is controlled and that the project is delivered within budget and that it achieves or exceeds the target rate of return
  • Ensure that the highest standards of health, safety and environment are complied with on site
Job Requirements

  • Driver with access to a vehicle
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a construction related discipline
  • ILM First Line Management level 3 or equivalent
  • 5 Day SMSTS & 3 Day First Aid Qualification
