    Description
    The Company

    Our client is a Refurbishment and fit out specialist, rapidly growing Contractor. They are looking for a Sustainability Manager to join the team and help the company grow with them.

    Project Support:

    - Overarching management and coordination of the Smartwaste system including maintenance of guidance / manual and set up for each project
    - Support project team in establishing systems relevant to the environmental / sustainability nature of each project
    - Support teams in defining relevant central Aspects and Impacts related to each project and overarching project risks
    - Smartwaste set up – including supporting Project Manager in developing the Site Waste Management Plan
    - Monitor input of data by project teams
    - Monitor project teams adherence to environmental objectives within Smartwaste and report to Board
    - Support projects in maximising CCS scores
    - Assist with the provision of performance feedback for each Sub-Contractor relating to site delivery matters (environment).
    - Champion lessons learned and continual improvement practices during project delivery.
    - Support project teams in the identification and collation of documentation for sustainability assessment schemes such as BREEAM, Ska, LEED
    - Engage with Client BREEAM Advisor to identify required project BREEAM evidence and ensure collation for issue / achieve required BREEAM rating.
    - Utilize systems to confirm with Suppliers / Sub-Contractors that materials are ethically or environmentally sourced

    Sampled assessment Main Responsibilities:

    - Supporting innovative development and regular review of the business environmental and sustainability related policies and company best practice / strategies
    - Oversee and ensure the ongoing certification to the latest ISO 14001 standard including liaising with the QA Team
    - Manage the internal ISO 14001 Environment Management Review including gathering relevant data and presenting
    - Take ownership and manage Collins Aspect and Impact Register
    - Advise, agree and implement ways of reducing Collins carbon footprint and business impact
    - Engage with best practice organisations outside Collins and keep up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives where applicable
    - Agree systems changes based on legislation updates and initiatives with the SHEQ Director / Board and ensure suitably deployed and effective
    - Liaising with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency
    - Work with Board to agree environmental objectives and notify business.
    - Assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients and regulatory bodies
    - Ensure business compliance with environmental legislation and internal systems approach
    - Inspection / Audit Programme
    - Project Inspections / Audits
    - Duty of Care Audits
    - Manage the tracking and successful closure of raised NCR's.
    - Undertake trend analysis of NCR's and ensure presentation in environmental / sustainability related internal reporting and Management Review.
    - Liaising with SHEQ Director and provide monthly reporting
    - Act as an champion for environmental issues within Collins – Examples:
    - Waste Management for office and sites
    - Noise / vibration monitoring were required
    - Office Environmental Management regime
    - Establish and provide environmental & sustainability training to staff at all levels
    - Ensure suitable training is provided by our Supply Chain
    - Producing educational or information resources for internal staff, clients or the general public
    - Assist the business development department by providing technical support at client introduction meetings as and when required.
    - Support bidding related to environmental and sustainability
    - Champion the development and update of business relevant Job Descriptions.
    - Provide environment / sustainability related technical bulletins to the business.
    - Champion environmental / sustainability related behaviours and as such a culture of environmental / sustainability within the business.
    - Champion environmental / sustainability related reward and recognition.
    - Champion senior management tours.
    - Bring management failings or potential environment breaches to the attention of the Main Board.
    - Ensure personal appearance meets Collins high standards.
    - Attend general client events as and when required.
    - Attend specific project events as and when required.
    - Assist with the external promotion of the company.
    - Assist with staff development as and when required.
    - Assist with maintaining the company ethos and management style as the business progresses.
    - Comply with Collins quality procedures

    **At all times consider environmental issues, ensuring the companies' environmental policy and procedures are adhered too and that everything is done to reduce emissions.**
    Monitor reporting for all BREEAM, LEED and SKA projects. Look to recycle products from projects where possible and practical.
    **In conjunction with other members of staff ensure the company's compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001**
    Ensure you have the required training certificates to carry out the role.
    **Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct, which mandates professional behaviour, respect, safety compliance, confidentiality, responsible conduct at company events, and adherence to substance abuse policies.**
