The role of a Financial Accountant is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity and transparency of Dunelm.You will be tasked with the dual responsibilities of technical accounting compliance and balance sheet substantiation, to ensure financial accuracy and reliability.
This role involves deep dives into financial statements, identifying any discrepancies or irregularities and rectifying them promptly to maintain the accuracy of the company's financial records.
You will prepare detailed financial statements and other reports that are presented to stakeholders, including investors, regulatory bodies, and the public.
Through your expertise in technical accounting, balance sheet management, and external communication, you will uphold the financial credibility of Dunelm, ensuring stakeholders have confidence in the financial information presented.

Leading and advising on all new technical accounting updates and initiatives.Performing periodic balance sheet reconciliations on a variety of accounts and presenting these at balance sheet review meetings.
Ensuring a robust methodology is applied to key accounting estimates, for example dilapidations.
Dealing with half year and year end audit queries.
Understanding other activities within the Financial Accounting team and provide cover for other team members as required.
Develop and deploy new methodologies for accounting estimates as the business changes, leveraging new technologies and data science approaches as relevant.
