    Due to a recent restructure and creation of senior leadership roles, we are looking to recruit two lead pharmacists:

    Lead Pharmacist - Elderly, Community Services and Palliative Care


    This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team and to develop and lead on services both within the Pharmacy Department, Trust and wider system.

    The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and able to provide clinical expertise and leadership to ensure delivery of high-quality pharmacy services to designated areas.


    This is an exciting time to join the team as we have new pharmacy leadership, changes in the pharmacy team structure and leadership and implementing digital technologies including electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems from Autumn 2024.

    These are full time (37.5 hours) permanent posts, yet part-time hours will be considered.
    To be the lead pharmacist supporting clinical pharmacy services in designated specialism.

    To lead on the drug cost- improvement programme for specified services, prioritising initiatives and ensuring the ward-based pharmacy teams are fully informed of their individual roles and responsibilities with regard to this programme.

    To be pharmacy support for drug incident reviews and action plans within specified services.
    Providing line management and supervision to the clinical and specialist Pharmacists in the tea

    If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.

    Master's degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or recognised equivalent
    ~ Post Graduate Clinical Diploma or Masters
    ~12 months pre-registration training
    ~ Registered with the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council)

    Non-medical prescribing qualification

    Knowledge of and ability to apply all aspects of regulatory legislation and guidelines to hospital pharmacy
    Significant experience within hospital clinical pharmacy
    Significant experience of policy and guideline development
    Experience of HR processes including recruitment, management of performance, sickness and objective setting
    Able to comply with all trust policies
    Available out of hours within one hours travel of Macclesfield DGH
