Description
Set amongst the woodland of Dorset lays 65 acres of sanctuary for over 250 primates.

Monkey World was set up in 1987 by Jim Cronin to provide abused Spanish beach chimps with a permanent, stable home.

Today Monkey World works in conjunction with foreign governments from all over the world to stop the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia.

At the park visitors can see over 250 primates of more than 20 different species.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Delivery of education programme to visiting educational groups.
  • Delivery of a range of talks and workshops tailored for Early Years, Primary, Secondary, and Further/Higher Education.
  • Delivery of talks as a visiting speaker to community groups.
  • Working closely with the Education Team Leader to develop education provision.
  • Simple administration relating to tour bookings and general enquiries.
  • Delivery of guided tours for schools, groups and general public.
  • Overseeing running of children's Activity Centre during school holidays.
  • Providing ad hoc education and assistance to Monkey World's visitors.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria_

  • Full UK driving license
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in informal and/or formal education
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Literate in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Enthusiastic and motivated
  • Must be flexible and able to work occasional weekends and evenings
  • Passion for primate conservation and welfare

  • Experience working with different age ranges
  • Experience of public speaking
  • Experience of working with SEND
  • Safeguarding training
  • Knowledge and understanding of primate conservation and welfare
This is a Maternity Cover, full time position, working 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.


Starting Salary:
£20,319.00

£20,319.00 per year
