- Visiting Suppliers and working in partnership with them to improve the cost of poor quality
- Developing metrics to monitor supplier performance and working with the plant to identify the biggest issues to address
- The supplier locations are predominantly based in the North-West so there isn't extensive travel
- Develop other team members through mentoring and training
- Active involvement in customer concerns/complaints/queries, driving root cause identification, corrective actions and preventative actions
- Use problem solving techniques to investigate external and internal issues
- Devise methodologies for improving process inspection & verification.
- Work with the operations team to improve inspection and verification
- Develop and execute a process audit plan.
- Devise process audit format and plan to engage workforce and identify non-conformities.
- Implement methodologies for establishing the "cost of quality", scrap, defects, returns, complaints, non-value added activities
- identify, track and reduce through structured methodologies. Control quarantine levels.
- Conduct vertical audits in the business to identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure timely management of internal and external system and product non-conformities.
- Support and facilitate continuous improvement activities
- Develop and implement significant improvements in department-wide processes, procedures and systems.
- Support NPI projects by working closely with other departments to ensure successful introduction into production
- Having experience working in both a Supplier Quality and Plant Quality position would be ideal
- Experience within a quality environment ideally in a related, regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of quality management techniques and quality system requirements
- Solid understanding of quality tools like root cause analysis
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work alongside a range of individuals
