    DEPUTY SENCO

    NJC Scale S01 point £37,575 - £38,769) pro rata

    35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)

    Required from September 2024

    We are seeking to appoint a Deputy SENCo to join our dedicated and passionate SEN faculty. The Norwood School is a thriving, mixed ability, community school with an inclusive ethos. Our staff work hard to ensure all students achieve to their full potential, regardless of their starting point. The Deputy SENCo will join our SEN team in this non-teaching position and work alongside our SENCo, helping to line manage and support our team of Learning Support Assistants.

    The successful candidate will:

    · Be an enthusiastic individual who can help lead the SEND provision across the school

    · Have high expectations of children's attainment, progress, behaviour and emotional

    · wellbeing

    · Have high expectations of their own achievement and development, both

    · professionally and personally

    · Have excellent organizational skills and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation

    · Have experience of implementing strategies to successfully support students

    · Be able to model good practice, deliver training and recommend specific

    · programmes of intervention for students

    · Be a team player who is creative, energetic and who will provide enriching and

    · inspiring learning opportunities for our young people

    · Make a positive contribution to all aspects of school life

    · Work and communicate positively with all staff, students, parents and external agencies
