Roles and responsibilities
As a support worker in a residential children's home, your main duties and requirements would include, but not are not limited to:
Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of our young people
Establishing and maintaining positive and trusting relationships with our young people
Encouraging the development of individual interests of our young people
A desire to learn, we provide full training for you to achieve a Childcare Diploma level 3
Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable is desired but not essential
Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check at enhanced level

Training is up to date and the registered manager is aware of when training requires renewing. The manager ensures that staff have the right knowledge and skills to meet the child's needs. Staff take part in regular reflection and team meetings. This helps to embed their learning into practice.
New staff receive very good support through their induction period. Staff go through a robust probationary review period, which allows the manager to monitor staff progress and identify any areas requiring improvement. Staff are well prepared to care for children.
