    Job summary

    Are you a qualified, or nearly qualified PWP?

    Are you looking for a supportive team, inwhich to learn and develop as a practitioner?

    This role will be based within Talking Therapies Manchester (partof the Big Life Group), You will work alongside other PWPs, e-Therapists, &Counsellors within a stepped care model to provide a range of NICE approved lowintensity interventions for common mental health problems. Treatment will be delivered through a range ofmodalities including face-to-face work, telephone therapy, eTherapy andfacilitating structured groups and stress tasters.

    Successfulcandidates will be skilled in delivering low intensity therapy, with theability to organise and prioritise their own workload, and will havesuccessfully completed an approved IAPT PWP Post Graduate Certificate ( or benear to qualification with all elements of the course succesfully passed/ontrack to qualify on time ) and must be BABCP or BPS registered.

    Our service offers a supportiveenvironment to nearly or newly qualified PWPs, enabling you to develop in therole, alongside a dedicated and compassionate team.

    Main duties of the job

    To manage a case load of clients.

    Provide assessment and Lowintensity interventions to clients drawing from CBT theories and techniques.This work may be face to face, telephone, group, or via other media.

    To deliver a range of evidence based one-to-one or group interventions.

    To support events within the community.

    To promote the service, and where necessary to generatereferrals.

    To work with clientswith Long Term Physical Health Conditions

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    1. To use a range of evidence based tools and techniques for assessments, goals and motivating clients

    2. To manage a varied caseload of clients

    3. To work with groups of clients to help them achieve their goals

    4. To collate and analyse performance data as necessary

    5. To develop effective relationships with a range of external organisations and agencies

    6. To promote the service to communities and agencies as appropriate

    7. To keep accurate and up to date records of clients records

    8. To ensure quality standards are adhered to and met and that audits are passed

    9. To ensure all statutory responsibilities are followed and reported as required

    10. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to SHS and any relevant regulation ( BABCP Code of Ethics) and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health ( NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).

    Experience

    Essential

  • a. Experience of working with people facing a range of barriers and social issues
  • b. Experience of managing a caseload of clients and keeping up to date records using a database
  • c. Experience of working with individuals and groups of people in different settings to help them achieve their goals
  • d. Experience of working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships
  • e. Experience in one or more of the following fields: mental health, family support, physical health, smoking cessation, diet and exercise, employment, social inclusion or debt management
  • f. Experience of providing clinical interventions for common mental health problems
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • a. Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (or nearing Qualification)
  • b. BABCP or BPS registered

  • a. Positive outlook and a can do attitude

  • e. Ability to work with staff from a range of agencies and organisations to better integrate services for clients
